Sementara kejutan panas blockbuster menantinya dengan film There's Something About Mary, costarring dan Ben Stiller Matt Dillon.

Film berikutnya yaitu Mortal Kombat, Diaz tetapi dalam syuting beliau terluka pergelangan tangannya alasannya yaitu adegan dalam film. Tapi begitulah Diaz di tuntut untu profesional dan harus kembali dalam kiprahnya di film yang sedang di bintanginya ini.
