Cameron Diaz mulai Karirnya sebagai model dikala beliau berumur 16 tahun. Dia menang Lomba modeling yang menciptakan dai beliau ke Jepang, Australia, Maroko, dan juga Paris. antara lain locales, beliau mendapat pekarjaan di majalah menyerupai itu sebagai model, dan kampanye iklan untuk perusahaan pengguna brand populer menyerupai  Calvin Klein, Coca-Cola, dan Levi's. 

Pada tahun 1994, beliau pertama Diaz mendapat tugas dalam film agresi blockbuster komedi "The Mask", film yang di bintanginya bersama Aktor komedi kondang Jim Carrey. Dengan pengalaman yang ada sebelumnya, awalnya ia di audisi abjad pemaran pembantu dalam film. Setelah sukses dari The Mask, Diaz yaitu seorang bakat Hollywood.

Setelah itu Diaz kembali berrmain dalam film, kali ini lawan mainnya yaitu Ewan McGregor dalam sebuah film komedi romantis "A Life Less Ordinary", hal ini  menjadikan Diaz masuk ke Daftar sebagai bintang Hollywood. Sementara kejutan panas blockbuster menantinya dengan film There's Something About Mary, costarring dan Ben Stiller Matt Dillon. 

Film berikutnya yaitu Mortal Kombat, Diaz tetapi dalam syuting beliau terluka pergelangan tangannya alasannya yaitu adegan dalam film. Tapi begitulah Diaz di tuntut untu profesional dan harus kembali dalam kiprahnya di film yang sedang di bintanginya ini.

Diaz bermain di film besar  My Best Friend's Wedding, bersama Julia Roberts dan Rave reviews.  Ternyata Diaz telah menciptakan perubahan dari model ke Aktris

Film berikutnya, yang berjudul "Life Less Ordinary". Diaz dari sudut yang lain nampaknya Hollywood melihat peluang pasar yang lebih luas untuk Diaz, maka muncullah kejutan yang panas untuk Diaz dalam "There's Something About Mary".

Cameron Diaz mendapat New York Film Critics Circle Awards dan MTV Movie Award pada tahun 1998 (Untuk Katagory "Best Actress" dalam film There's Something About Mary).
