Seperti amfibi, Jane hidup di antara dua dunia. Pertama dunia sekolah, dimana Jane harus terlibat segala macam aktivitas sekolah, belajar, kehidupan asmara, persahabatan dan liku-liku urusan sekolah lain yang membingungkan.

Di dunia lainnya Jane harus berkonsentrasi di bawah pimpinan bosnya yang "galak" Gray Chandler Murray "Gray" (Andie MacDowell), saingannya India (India de Beaufort). Membuatnya sadar bahwa persaingan di dunia fashion sangat kejam dan tak kenal ampun, namu Jane walaupun sedikit terpontang panting menganngap itu semua sebagai sebuah tantangan yang seru, terlebih ia di temani seorang sahabat yang selalu siap membantu Billy (Nicholas Roux) dan seorang abang yang sangat menyayanginya Ben (David Clayton Rogers).

Berhasilkah Jane menjalani kenidupan "gandanya" serta segala macam warna-warna kehidupan yang mendampinginya, menyerupai Ibunya, Calon kekasihnya, mamtan kekasihnya, persaingan sekolah dan lain-lain???
